Why Women Empowerment?

Good health is the foundation of a dignified life. For many underprivileged families, basic healthcare is either unavailable or unaffordable. At Sarala Foundation, we recognize that without good health, children can’t learn, parents can’t work, and communities can’t thrive. We work to bridge the healthcare gap by ensuring that essential services reach the most vulnerable — children, women, the elderly, and those living in remote rural and tribal areas.

What We Do

We work with women from marginalized communities to build their confidence, develop their skills, and help them become self-reliant. Our programs offer training in tailoring, handicrafts, and small business development, along with life skills such as financial literacy and leadership. Through awareness sessions, we educate them about health, hygiene, rights, and social issues. We also support survivors of domestic abuse and work to prevent gender-based violence.

Our Interventions

Our interventions are designed to provide both economic empowerment and emotional strength. We set up self-help groups where women can save, lend, and grow together. We organize workshops on entrepreneurship, vocational training, and digital skills. Regular sessions are held to raise awareness about gender equality, reproductive health, and women's rights. We also offer counseling and support for women facing mental health challenges or domestic violence.

Impact

Through our empowerment programs, dozens of women have gained new skills, started small businesses, and become financially independent. Many who were once confined to household roles now contribute to their family income and actively participate in community matters. Our awareness programs have helped reduce child marriages and increased the confidence of women to speak up for themselves and others.

Stories of Change

Sunita, a mother of two, joined our tailoring program with no prior experience. Today, she runs a small tailoring business from home, earns her own income, and has even trained other women in her neighborhood. Her journey from dependency to independence is an inspiration.

Sunita’s Transformation

Meena was a victim of domestic abuse and had lost all hope. Through our counseling and support group, she regained her strength, left the abusive relationship, and now leads a local women’s group that advocates for gender justice and mental well-being.
